It was silent. Too silent for his pleasure.
"Lifkins," Snyder casually pushed his shoulders down to sit. "I heard Akiko did a little hunting yesterday,"
When Snyder was like this, it scared the hell out of Stewart, because he knew what was coming next. And everyone knows, if shit hit the fan, and Snyder is this calm, something was up.
"Yes," He said. The green-haired male stood behind his now sitting assassin, and bent over resting his elbows on his shoulders. It caused pain for Stewart, and Snyder meant that. "I couldn't stop her, sir I just...."
"You just what? She's your subordinate. And you are my subordinate, Lifkins!" He knocked Stewart out of the cushy chair.and placed his booted foot against his cheek.
"Forgive me! Please! I didn't know....she said...she said-"
"I don't give a damn what she said. You're an adult, you can keep track of your own affairs. But whatever concerns Aaramark and her guests is very, very important." He retracted his foot and watched his most trusted assassin slowly crawl up from the worm's eye view. But that didn't lessen the swollen situation.
Snyder lashed out and grabbed a fistful of Stewart's black hair, causing him to wince in pain.
"I want you to keep an eye on her.....and stop her by any means necessary. But I want YOU to nab me one of those demons..."
"Well, the male might be too hard....from what Akiko told me he has dark hair, tanned and has..." He paused.
"Has what?" He pulled his hand away from Stewart, intrigued by the description of the newbies.
"Well, he has cat ears and a cat tail...."
Snyder hummed thoughtfully. "And the girl?"
"She didn't see her clearly, but she has dark blue hair and grey or green eyes..."
"She sounds beautiful...." He mumbled to self.

Everything was as it was. Maybe not to the fullest, but just getting there. Crash was pigging out on the special take-out pizza Aaramark had ordered (five to be exact, it was intended to be a mini-party held in Trip's honor) along with the buffalo wings; spicy, just as Crash wanted.
Trip only had two slices, Gail about three, and Crash going on his eighth slice. Aaramark kept in private her own pizza for later, since she knew the rest of the pizza, if no one defended their own slice or two, Crash would devour it like Patrick eating cookies off of Spongebob SquarePants.
As for the newbies: Kyra had one or two slices, and Shonu, after making sure it wasn't poisoned, took quite a liking to the pies and ate nearly half of one, almost rivaling Crash's record.
"Men," Gail shook her head. She had meant the statement to Kyra, whom was holding half a cup of soda. but Trip merely glanced at her with a "who me?" look.
But Kyra was in her own world. She stared in her said cup with only three half-melted ice cubes. The past 24 hours had been living hell, and now inexplainable glee. But somehow she couldn't help but feel an ominous feeling sweep over her.
She looked up at Shonu. And right on time he looked back at her with those comforting golden eyes of his. It was like he knew.
"What's wrong?" Gail asked Kyra. But she merely shook her head and stood up.
"Excuse me, I have to talk to Shonu," The young priestess walked into their guest room with the male feline. The door closed.
Gail just stared at the door, a little worried and confused. "Crash?" She looked at her brother, who had just finished downing his umpteenth slice of pizza. He met her gaze and nodded.
"They can sense things better than we can, sis." He winked. "Maybe we can be more careful with those two around."
"That didn't do me any good," Trip darkly joked.
"An accident, Trip. Shows you you shouldn't case after White Death any more," Crash added.
But the chestnut-haired assassin stayed quiet. Now was not the time to lecture him. Anyway, that was Aaramark's job in the first place.
"Don't even bother giving her a name like that. Even when uneducated townsfolk do, that doesn't mean she is."
"Do I sense jealousy?" Crash chided.
"No," She sighed, spinning her soda in her glass. "I just wish..."
Crash already knew. There was just something about that gal neither of them liked. It was like she knew something, and it wasn't about next week's weather forecast.
"Alright, I'm finally out, who's next?" Aaramark came out from the hallway, dabbing at her hair with a clean, white towel. "Where's-?"
"In their room. Kyra spilt her glass on her shirt," Crash lied.
"Oh. Okay." She shrugged and headed for another can of soda.
"I'm next," Trip got up and into his room, minutes later emerged with a towel and a new change of clothes.

Mission accomplished. Disguising himself as the pizza delivery boy, Stewart had the opportunity to see the demons up close. And Snyder was right; the female was absolutely breathtaking.
But that was all he could do at the moment, the only thing Snyder would allow for now. For the next month, he would have to lay low and same with Akiko. Oh he hated watching Akiko for jobs like this. Usually, on a good day, she would do whatever she wanted and not get into trouble. But for days like this, he would have to basically tail her, and that was hard as hell.
He lit his cigarette with a sigh as cold snowflakes tangled themselves in his hair. Well, He thought, At least we share one thing in common, Aara. But he couldn't tell her now. Absolutely not....
With a pressing of a few keys, he texted his superior. Minutes passed and he waited outside, smoking peacefully in the winter white. Then came a series of small beeps, and he flipped open his phone.
Needless to say, he needed to get down to business and find Akiko fast. This was big news.

The next day, Aaramark rounded up her assassins and demons into the conference room for a meeting. But not just any meeting, it was about showing their guests around Neo'Nyr and out of the safe confines of the penthouse.
Crash, was excited.
Gail was semi-excited.
Trip was a little fearful.
Aaramark was apprehensive about the whole thing, but she knew that they couldn't hole up here forever. So, she went over the various interesting attractions, such as museums, libraries (three to be exact, she assigned Trip as the official 'tour guide' to Kyra and to Shonu if he was even interested), and even the Farmer's Market held every thursday.
And as usual, Crash would insert his own recommendations for curious attractions. Gail, bless her heart, would step on the arch of his foot to silence his incessant ramblings.
"Why don't we take them to see the theatre tonight? I could get extra tickets!" The lilac-haired girl suggested. Aaramark thought a bit, then shrugged.
"I see no problem with that. But remember, we must-"
"-stay extra vigilant and lay low." Trip and Crash said in unison. Aaramark for once looked surprised at her colleague's finishing of her sentence.
Kyra watched in amusement as the raven-haired assassin tried to suppress her frustration at the two. Even Shonu relaxed, which was rare in her sight. But still, she knew at any moment he could kick some serious ass when need be, like last time.
Last time.
The priestess successfully hid her silent shudder at how Trip was demoted to a weakling, and how he had saved her life.
Well, on how Trip saved everyone's life here in the penthouse. And strangely, she found him...well, attractive. God forbade! If Shonu ever found out-
"Kyra?" Shonu's voice broke through her troubled thoughts, with that familiar sense of worry for the girl. "Are you alright?"
"Um...! Yes, why do you ask?" She did her best to hide the growing blush that crawled upon her porclain features.
"Because you had the faraway look in your eyes that means you're troubled about something." He spoke low enough so that the others' couldn't hear but only his companion could. That earned him a playful glare and a rolling of the eyes.
"Honestly Shonu I'm fine! You worry too much,"
"Do I?"
Gail, sitting close to the two, turned around and nudged Shonu. "Hey! Maybe I could show you the best fast-food places here. I know you would like Burger King!"
Kyra froze. Somehow that franchise name came back to her like tidal wave. She was in her own world, and she didn't even realize or think it. For Shonu this was his first time, and everything 21st century was new to him. So with a wry little smirk, she turned to Shonu like Gail.
"Yeah, maybe you could have it your way!" Kyra smiled, and Gail only giggled. Poor Shonu, he was only more confused.
With a suspicious scowl on his handsome features, and with a slight twitch of his feline ears, he asked: "What's a Burger King?"
This is REALLY late, and I apologize to :iconkasai-yokai: deeply for my tardiness on this, but this is part 9 methinks on our ongoing series with our random characters. <3
